River Valley Counseling Center partners with local school districts to provide mental health counseling during the school day.

The program provides families with access to therapy by removing barriers such as long wait lists, transportation, insurance coverage problems, and scheduling conflicts. River Valley Counseling Center provides outpatient mental health therapy to students within the following school districts: Amherst, Chicopee, East Longmeadow, Easthampton, Granby, Hatfield, Hadley, Holyoke, South Hadley, Springfield (select schools), and Westfield. We also partner with Charter Schools including Hilltown Charter School and Pioneer Valley Performing Arts School.

How to enroll your child in school-based therapy

If your child attends a school in one of the districts listed above, please contact a school counselor, school nurse, or administrator at your child’s school. They will confirm the service is available and complete the referral form with you.

If you would like to obtain therapy for a child that does not attend a school offering our services, please call our Central Intake Department to request a therapist at one of our clinic locations (Holyoke, Chicopee, Springfield, Easthampton, or Westfield).
