Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative

Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative

The Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative is an initiative of the Commonwealth’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services. It is an effort by MassHealth to provide more community-based behavioral health or mental health services to youth under the age of 21 who meet the criteria.

HIV/AIDS Project

HIV/AIDS Project

River Valley Counseling Center provides comprehensive, bilingual and bi-cultural case management, mental health counseling, Peer support and other supportive services for HIV/AIDS positive people and their families at sites in Springfield and Holyoke.

School-Based Therapy Services

School-Based Therapy Services

We partner with local school districts to provide mental health counseling during the school day. The program provides families with access to therapy by removing barriers such as long wait lists, transportation, insurance coverage problems, and scheduling conflicts.

School-Based Health Centers

School-Based Health Centers

The School-Based Health Centers (Teen Clinics) are located at the following Holyoke schools: Holyoke High School, Dean Campuses, and William R. Peck Middle School. Our Teen Clinics are licensed health clinics providing quality, comprehensive health care services on-site in schools. We know that healthy students learn better and achieve more. Parental consent is required.

Springfield Technical Community College

College-Based Therapy Services

RVCC partners with Springfield Technical Community College to provide mental health counseling services to the student population. The program provides students with access to a therapist right on campus. Licensed clinicians will work with students to determine the course of treatment and offer respectful and compassionate counseling services

A-CRA Program

A-CRA Program

A-CRA is brief, intensive, evidenced based treatment for 12-24 year olds to support substance use recovery. A-CRA is a minimum of 10-14 sessions, which includes 1-4 sessions with Parent/Caregiver. Therapeutic groups will be an additional intervention offered during treatment to support peer connection, education and skill building/practice.

W.I.S.E. Program

W.I.S.E. Program

The Wellness Interventions Support and Education (W.I.S.E.) Program works with students ages 8-13 from both the William R. Peck and Veritas Preparatory Middle Schools to connect students with positive, healthy community supports.
